Where to place the Camera
Natural framing at any scale, no camera expertise required.
Overview
The goal of camera placement is simple:
make people look natural and keep everyone clearly in frame.
Pleneo’s RoomVision automatically tracks speakers and adjusts framing throughout the meeting.
Good placement gives the system a clear reference, so it can do its job consistently.
The Most Important Rules
1. Eye-level placement
Place the camera at seated eye height (~1.2 m)
Creates natural eye contact
Too high → people look down
Too low → people look up
2. Align with the display
Keep the camera as close as possible to the screen
Helps people appear to look at each other
Avoids “off-angle” conversations
Best Camera Placement Options
1. Centered, Below the Display (Recommended)
Closest to natural eye level
Keeps gaze aligned with the screen
Works especially well with dual displays
Best setup:
Two displays with the camera placed between them at eye height.
2. Centered, Above the Display
Clean, familiar framing
Works in nearly all rooms
Reliable when below-display placement isn’t possible
Use this as a fallback when needed.
3. Side Wall (Last Option)
Practical when front-wall mounting isn’t possible
Acceptable in smaller rooms
Side mounting introduces angled views and should be avoided when possible.
Choosing the Right RoomVision Model
RoomVision adapts to how people use the room.
The right model simply ensures enough visual coverage.

In Summary

Choose the model based on room size
Get placement right, and everything else happens automatically.
That’s how camera intelligence stays invisible, and meetings feel natural.
