Using RoomHub as a BYOD System

Edited

Overview

This article explains how to use RoomHub in BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) mode after it has been installed and configured.

BYOD mode is designed to be simple.
Connect your laptop. Start the meeting. RoomHub handles the rest.

Before You Begin

Make sure RoomHub is already installed and ready for use.

If needed, complete system setup first using the appropriate deployment method.

Once RoomHub is deployed, no additional configuration is required for daily BYOD use.

Using RoomHub in BYOD Mode

Using RoomHub as a BYOD system is straightforward.

Steps:

  • Connect your laptop to RoomHub using a USB cable

  • Select RoomHub as your audio device on the laptop

  • Start your meeting

That’s it.

When operating in BYOD mode:

  • Automatic camera tracking is always active

  • Mute and volume are controlled directly from your laptop

RoomHub runs quietly in the background.

Connecting Audio and Video

If your room includes a PTZ camera, audio and video can be combined into a single laptop connection.

Recommended setup:

  • Connect the PTZ camera’s USB or video output to a USB hub

  • Connect RoomHub to the same USB hub

  • Connect the USB hub to your laptop

This creates one clean connection for both audio and video.

Once connected:

  • Audio processing starts automatically

  • Camera tracking is active

  • No manual setup is required

In Summary

RoomHub makes BYOD meetings easy.

Key points:

  • One USB connection to the laptop

  • Automatic audio processing and camera tracking

  • Laptop controls mute and volume

  • No room-side configuration

Plug in.
